Who are we

A couple from Majorca who share a passion for travel and the pleasure of setting off

Eusebi y Cati

Cati

Catalina Capella Salva. I am 31 years old and as well as being an idealist and an enthusiast, I am "too" active. I am passionate about handicrafts, the world of theatre, dance... I love to be in contact with new people, but above all I love to learn from them and teach them the small things that make me happy.
I am qualified as a physical education teacher, specializing in aquatic activities, more specifically with special groups such as pregnant women, babies, elderly people and people with disabilities.

Eusebi

Eusebi Colomer Servera, 45 years old. Electronic and telecommunications techniican. Water sports fanatic and of lately a mountain sports fan (trekking, skiing etc)
I think that travelling is one of the best ways to learn about living and being a human being. As a result it has always been easy for me to pack a rucksack and take off.
After a number of years living in Palma, I was lucky enough to return to my hometown and live in the countryside. Here, remembering my grandfather´s way of life, I learned the importance of living day to day, of looking to the sky and feeling the wind, the rain... as I try to do in all the new places that we visit.
The fact of living this way has allowed me to learn a series of skills (bricklayer, plumber, carpenter etc…), which are always practical in whatever moment.
Thanks to travelling I have also been able to perfect languages that I had studied previously, like English and French.

Why by bicycle?
______________________________________

Basically, because it’s an ecological vehicle that doesn´t use any other energy source apart from our own.

It´s a slow, calm and relaxed way to travel around that gives us time to adjust to changes and adapt ourselves to different environments that we will come across during the three years.

It requires a strong physical and psychological presence.

We already have previous experience that has reinforced our decision to continue using this type of transportation, which suits us perfectly.

Route

We will start our trip in the south of Chile, heading towards the North via the Western coast of South, Central and North America and then continuing towards Canada. Once there, we will head to New Zealand by boat, and then on to Australia. After which, we will continue to Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Thailand. We will enter southern China and continue east until we arrive to Kazakhstan. Then we head towards Azerbaijan, Northern Turkey, Greece and finally we arrive home.

An exact schedule is practically impossible. This description is only a guideline. It’s obvious that apart from the kilometers clocked daily, one must also take into account the unplanned activities that may arise, such as the time dedicated to volunteer work in different NGO's.
-1st year - Chile to Canada.

- 2nd year - New Zealand, Australia and Indonesia

- 3rd year - the rest of Asia and Europe.

Stages

The first stage: Madrid - Santiago de Chile will be by air. The rest will be by bike. Some stretches, due to safety reasons, will have to be done by bus or train. The journeys between islands for example: Canada to New Zealand, New Zealand to Indonesian Islands and Indonesia to Vietnam, will be by boat.
